Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, Albena began her fashion career designing haute couture. She became one of the most successful fashion designers in Bulgaria, with various runway shows and TV appearances showcasing her collections. Despite her success, Albena was in search of more opportunities abroad and always had the dream to become a fashion designer in NYC. In 1987 she landed her first job in Manhattan as a head designer. She began designing junior apparel for boys and girls. She has designed for this age group in NYC ever since and her collections have won many national competitions and graced the pages of numerous trade publications. She has had the pride of seeing her collections hit the runways at the annual trade shows in the USA and Paris. Her successes both in haute couture and in children's wear show her level of flexibility as a designer. Her keen eye and training as an artist enable her to visualize and create one beautiful garment after another.
